Я же не спрашивал как ставить, а как решить мою проблему. Вот более детальное описание. Грузимся с компакта, дело доходит до /stand/sysinstall, появляется надпись
Probing devices, please wait (this can take a while) ... // dialog(1) его рисует уже
и все останавливается. На vty1 последние две строки гласят:
