DESCRIPTION
The Cif_Errstring routine returns a pointer to a string that
describes the condition that is associated with the input
compiler information file (CIF) status value.
CIF_VERSION defines the library version. The default is 1.
The newest version is 2 and should be used with this rou-
tine.

tion, format, and versions.
RETURN VALUES
The Cif_Errstring routine returns a pointer to a string that
describes the standard CIF status values.
EXAMPLES
The following example, when used in a program, prints a
string that describes the condition associated with a status
value: int mystatus;
