NAME
utauthd - Sun Ray appliance authentication daemon
SYNOPSIS
/opt/SUNWut/lib/utauthd -b | -e [ -d ]
DESCRIPTION
The utauthd is responsible for authentication and access
control for the Sun Ray appliances attached to a server.
This command should not be executed directly. It is invoked
by a system startup script.
OPTIONS
The following options are supported:
-b Begin execution of the daemon.
-e End execution of the daemon.
-d UNSUPPORTED. Enable debug log messages. These messages
can reveal authentication secrets. This option should
not be used in a production environment.
Without arguments, the default is -b.
FILES
The following files are used by this daemon:
/etc/init.d/utsvc
This is the system startup script that invokes the
daemon. /opt/SUNWut/utsessiond, the session manager,
performs the actual session switching function.
/etc/opt/SUNWut/auth.props
The authentication manager's configuration file.
/etc/opt/SUNWut/policy/utpolicy
This file determines what policy is used by the Sun
Ray server.
The authentication manger is normally started by running
utsvc with the start or restart argument. The start argument
starts both the session manager and the authentication
manager, so all of the sessions are lost. The restart argu-
ment only starts the authentication manager, so all the ses-
sions are continued.
