Доброго времени суток!
Имеется машинка с FreeBSD 7.1 RC2, работающая в сети. Работает стабильно, пока дело не доходит до копирования ряда файлов(чем больше файлы и чем больше их, тем вероятнее появление ошибки). В этом случае на определенном этапе вылетает следующее сообщение и система виснет. После этого только ресет по черному помогает возобновить работу. В результате, после этого fsck при загрузке находит кучу ошибок, но загрузка проходит нормально.panic: vm_page_insert: page already inserted (root) ON ttyv1

Не важно каким способом проходит копирование(smbd,ftp, комманда cp) ошибка повторяется при всех способах.Ядра с предыдущих версий(6.2, 6.4, 7.0) системы загружатся не хотели(как GENERIC с диска, так и вручную собранное).

А памяти по факту действительно два гига воткнуто? Погоняй ее мемтестом по полной программе.
Ошибка генерится менеджером памяти, так что собака где-то рядом порылась.Ну и так, до кучи попробуй копировать все в пределах одного харда, потом в пределах другого. Может это кто-то из них глючит. Не нарезана ли на хардах какая экзотическая файловая система? Не занимался ли после установки фри каким-ньть тюнингом системы с установкой "оптимальных" параметров в sysctl?
А, еще забыл.Открыта ли консоль в процессе локального копирования? (если консоль локальная, то не запускается ли на ней какой-ньть скринсейвер или powersave режим перед ошибкой). То же для ssh - не рвется ли соединение?
Консоль открыта,при копировании через smbd пробовал выходить, не помогло.Скрин не запускается, по ssh консоль просто виснет, даже не успевая выдать сообщения об ошибке.
Да оперы 2 жижика. Пробовал вытягивать по одной планке,менять местами, не помогает. Сейчас гоняю мемтестом, пока везде выдает "Ок". Файловая система везде ufs + на 80-ке свап.
Копирование проводил как в пределах одного харда, так и между. Замечу, что при установке системы с СD на отформатированный винт, подобная ошибка 1 раз тоже дала о себе знать.sysctl изменял, но ошибка была и до этого. На всякий случай:

Очень хочется предположить аппаратную проблему вроде битой памяти или неисправной материнки... А раньше на этом железе что-то работало?Что-то где-то я сталкивался с smp... Вот первым делом попробовал бы пересобрать ядро без smp и сопутствующих опций.
А потом, если не поможет, попробовал бы запустить livecd фри, подмонтировать харды, что-ньть скопировать. Можно еще для увелиения объема статистики попробовать запустить livecd линукса какого-ньть. Хотя, если на этапе установки фри ошибка появляется, то думается что и с livecd повторится.
Тогда остается сбросить настройки биоса, может обновить его... Ну и на железки грешить.Вообще в гугле упоминается такая ошибка, но вопросы довольно давнишние.

Жылезки нульцевые. Пока больше всего вызывает подозрение мать, ночь ганял мемтестом память, кроме "Ок" ничего неполучил. Биос перекопал от и до - бесполезно. Попробую еще, как ты говориш, без SMP и чето виндоволинуксообразное запихнуть и попробовать на нем, что бы 100% знать куда булку крошить! )

Выяснилось, что проблема чисто фрибиэсдишная, Linux Ubuntu Server и Windows XPю работают на железках нормально. Суть проблемы пока выяснить не удалось ((
Решилось заменой мамки. Как мне обьяснили в сервисе, там чето с биосом не так было!
